OK, I am going to keep it really simple here and not overcomplicate it. If you do nothing else before putting your house on the market, do these FOUR things:
NEUTRAL PAINT: Some people may like the bright pink or fluorescent purple but let’s be real, we all have different taste. Keep decor and colors as neutral as possible. It can be really hard for a Buyer to see past paint colors.
DECLUTTER & DEEP CLEAN: Invest in storage boxes, a storage unit, I don’t care how but put all the stuff away! I am telling you —this.does.wonders. Remove as much as you can! CURB APPEAL: Driving up to the house and walking to the front door is an important first impression. Honestly, I can tell right away if a Buyer is excited or apprehensive about the home before even walking through the door. Consider things like - seal coating a driveway, pressure washing the home and walkways, gutter cleaning, weeding and lawn maintenance.
SERVICE MAJOR SYSTEMS: Doing this shows you care enough to maintain important components of the home. Buyers love to purchase from Sellers who are meticulous about their property. It shows that it hasn’t been neglected over time.
That’s all! Of course, there is more you can do like DIY projects, small updates, new flooring, staging etc. But these four SMALL things will really give you a BIG impact when it comes to price and an easier home sale.
